Review of Baker Days Personalised Letterbox Cake + Competition to Win One for Yourself!
I was contacted by the lovely people at Baker Days to ask if I would like to review one of their cakes. Now who doesn’t love cake? It all coincided nicely with me going on holiday and not being on my diet, so I could fit in some cake into my life.
Baker Days do personalised cakes, so you can add an image of someone, or maybe a favourite character. I went for my blog design and was very pleased with my fab Laura’s Lovely Blog cake.
The cake that Baker Days sent me was a Letterbox cake, and what is really nifty is that the cake can be sent in the post and as the name suggests, be posted through your letterbox. It is a small size cake with 3/4 servings and would make a nice individual birthday gift, but would not work for a party, although it is worth saying that Baker Days do make bigger size cakes.
The cake arrived in a little box, in a lovely keepsake tin with candles, a balloon, a streamer and a little card.
The packaging was well presented and designed to make it easy for you to get the cake out of the tin without ruining it.
The cake itself was a bit like half a cake. You know a cake usually has a top layer, then some buttercream or jam in the middle and then a bottom layer? Well the letterbox cake only had the top layer, it still had the buttercream at the bottom, but no bottom layer to the cake.
Most importantly of course was did it taste nice? It most definitely did, buttery and rich with lots of yummy buttercream. It would make a really nice gift to someone on their birthday. I also liked that it can be sent in the post so you do not have to worry about the person being in to receive the delivery.
