Weigh, Lose or Stay
Week Twenty
Sigh, I’m struggling. I’m kind of fed up, but really want to hit goal too. A friend said to me this week that it is really hard to consistently keep the focus and it really is, I seem to have lost it and I really need to get it back. Actually I would quite like someone to just come and do the hard dieting bit for me and magically make me slimmer, but that’s not going to happen. I need to make the choice and find the focus myself.
So this week was a 0.75lbs gain – not too bad but depressingly 3cm gain in measurements. So I have obviously not done well. I know exactly what to do, I just need to do it. So please tell me – how do you re-find your dieting focus when it has abandoned you? And I hope I can share more positive news with you next week.

Linky Rules
I must stress this is open to anyone, you do not have to join in the Linky if you just want to share your weight loss or maintenance stats in the comments, this is totally fine. But if you want to link up that is also fab.
This is a feature that everyone can join in with (including my own clients!). Not every body is on a diet, but they do like to keep an eye on their weight for maintenance purposes. So this is a weekly weigh-in whether you want to lose weight or stay the same.
The more the merrier please join in. It doesn’t matter what diet you are following, dieting is hard whatever route you take this is just about supporting one another.

don’t be too hard on yourself. I lost focus last week too but unlike you I’ve been a chicken and not stepped on the scales. I find I bloat majorly around my time of the month could it be the same for you? Just think of those new jeans you are going to buy!!
Potentially my cycles are all over the place, so hard to tell. I hope you have a better week x
Oh dear! i’m in a similar boat…. just struggling and when i went to get weighed I’d gained more than I expected but i’m on a double dose due to being extra unwell and the steroids are playing silly games with my body. Keep going Laura! You can do it! 🙂
Angela xx
Thank you Angela, I think being on steroids makes it very hard to lose weight, I hope you get on ok next week xx
I struggled the alter part of the week, but I believe it best to dust yourself down and start again. It really hard to keep focused when the ultimate goal is losing weight as food is soo good and dieting is soo pants!
So true Amanda, food is so tempting and delicious – sigh. But you’re right it is best to dust yourself down and get back on it x
It is interesting that both respondents to your post are also struggling – perhaps it is linked to the change of season, nights drawing in, and our survival instincts telling us to eat while we can before winter comes. I know too well how hard it is to gain two weeks running, but you have to assess the last couple of weeks fairly – you have been very busy with your clients and your blog, and Aria has been teething and had a nasty cold. Everything is more difficult when you are really tired, and you keep on finding reserves of patience and sympathy for others, which leaves you little energy to apply to your own battles, so it is not surprising that you have not done so well on your diet. Try and remember that you are still almost 31 lbs lighter than when you started, which is fantastic – over two stone (more than your son weighs, lift him up and see!) My slimming leader told me last week (after my second gain on the scales) to hang on in and the weight would shift, and this week it did – 2lbs – the worst thing you can do is dwell on what you see as failure, no one loses all their extra weight without falling off the wagon now and then. Keep going, you will get there, and I know that even if you didn’t lose any more you look fantastic now. Those new jeans are waiting, and you will be in them very soon. I know you will do it.
Fantastic loss well done 🙂 and I am also wondering if a change in the seasons is making everyone want to eat cosy food too. Must keep trying! x
I’m struggling lately too, I’m expecting a gain tomorrow BUT on the positive it will be my first gain since starting the plan.
I have no willpower whatsoever when I’m out & can see food, I just need to lock myself up in the house until I’m skinny.

I hope you did better than you thought at weigh in xx
