Baby Annabell Learns to Swim Review
A few weeks ago we reviewed the Baby Annabell Interactive Doll. Aria loves it and since we have reviewed it plays with the doll every single day. I think it’s fair to say it has firmly become one of her favourite toys. So she was very excited to try out Baby Annabell’s newest doll – Learns to Swim.
Baby Annabell – Learns to Swim does exactly what you would expect it to. It is a very clever doll that learns to swim. She comes in a swimsuit with her very own towel and armbands. She requires 3 x AA batteries that are not included. So if you’re planning on getting it as a gift, make sure you get some in.
Aria couldn’t wait to try her out and put her pink swimsuit on just like Baby Annabell’s and they both got into the bath together.
Baby Annabell Learns to Swim cooes and giggles and sometimes cries when she is in the water. Just like a regular baby.
You can put her in 3 main positions in the bath. It took me a little while to work out that you should do them in sequential order, just like Annabell was actually learning to swim. You start with her sitting up where she splashes her arms. Then you let her float on her back with your hand underneath and she chatters and gurgles away, after which you take your hand away and she moves her arms and kicks her legs as she learns to swim and moves slowly through the water.
As I said above it took a little while to work out what position to put Annabell in the water to get her going – it would probably have helped if I had read the instructions properly! Periodically we had to lift her out of the water and put her back in in the order mentioned above to get her swimming again. I also found that every now and then you had to drain the water from her or she got too heavy and started to sink. But, once I worked this out it was fine and Aria loved the doll and was really fascinated when she started to swim.
This is such a fun idea for a doll. I think the type of dolls you can get now compared to when I was a girl are so creative. If you have a child that is nervous of the water or about to start swimming lessons this is a really lovely way to introduce them to it and get used to the idea. Baby Annabell’s great fun to play with in the bath, but you could also take her to the swimming pool with you. I can also see her being a great toy to take on holiday with you too. A fab way to sparkk children’s imaginative play.
*Disclosure: We were sent Baby Annabell learns to swim for the purpose of this review, however, all opinions are my own.
Ooh so cute! What a great toy to encourage little ones to enjoy swimming! Think this may be going on my daughters Christmas list!
