Panasonic Nanoe Hairdryer Review

I’m not totally sure how long I’ve had my hairdryer, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s into the double figures in terms of years. Although I have been debating upgrading it for a while. I was a little seduced by the Dyson hairdryer adverts until I saw the price tag. I can’t really justify £300 for a hairdryer!

If you read this month’s Lovely Things you will know that last month I was invited to go to Panasonic’s headquarters and learn more about their products which was rather cool. While I was there I was also given their Nanoe hairdryer to review. So it gave me the perfect opportunity to se how much hairdryers have improved in the last *ahem* ten years.

My hair is long, naturally wavy and prone to frizz. I’m also all about the practicality. I want to be able to style my hair quickly and efficiently in the morning without having to worry about it for the rest of the day. But I also want it looking good. Time is very much key.

So let’s look at the Panasonic Nanoe hairdryer. First and foremost it contains a patented technology called ‘nanoe’. From what I understand nanoe is all about the moisture balance in your hair. It blows micro particles into your hair while drying that contains moisture so it doesn’t dry out your hair. It also maintain the natural PH balance of your hair.  I was really interested on seeing how this improved my rather frizz prone hair!

The hairdryer comes with three attachments. The standard nozzle, a diffuser and one that I was particularly interested in – a fast drying nozzle. The fast drying nozzle combines strong and week flows with the aim of drying your hair more quickly than normal. Which was one of the things that really made me want to try this hair dryer.

The School Run Test

So I decided to give the hairdryer a real world test to see how it performed. I used the hairdryer in the morning before the school run. I washed and conditioned my hair and blowdried it using the fast drying nozzle. I should also state I put absolutely no product on my hair whatsoever.

This is the results.

Pretty good huh? I’ve used no straighteners on my fringe and I normally do. But I think I do prefer it straightened, but I wanted to see how it would last just blowdried. The fast dry nozzle was pretty good and got my hair dry nice and quickly. But the thing I was most impressed with is how sleek my hair was after.

Then, it was time for a real world rest. The school run on a damp, foggy morning. Which usually spells hair disaster for me. My hair usually frizzes and my fringe curls. The best solution is usually to tie it up and maybe even wear a hat. But I decided to road test the nanoe technology and left it loose.

This is what happened.

Of course my fringe curled – it’s he bane of my hair life! It did frizz a bit too. But, I don’t think the frizz is a bad as it normally would be.

I then went upstairs and straightened my fringe and overall my hair looked a lot better!

Ok, the hairdryer wasn’t a magic anti-frizz device. Perhaps my road test was little unfair. But I was really thrilled with the pre-drizzle rain experience. I also think my hair after the school run test was less frizzy that it would be normally. I’m a fan of the fast dry nozzle and it is my new favourite hairdryer attachment. Anything that can my hair drier more quickly (and I have a lot of hair) is a massive bonus. Which meant the Panasonic Nanoe hairdryer was a win for me. Will I be ditching my old hairdryer? Absolutely.
