20 Facts About Me
I was tagged by the lovely Becky from Pinks Charming on Instagram to share 20 Facts About Me and I thought it would be nicer to do it as a blog post as well. So here are 20 random facts all about me.
- I hate eggs, and never eat them and neither does my husband. I tried to encourage my children to eat them and they don’t like them either.
- I love books, I have no idea how many I own but with my digital collection it may well be over 1000 books.
- I also love handbags, again I have no idea how many I own, but my Radley collection alone is in double figures.
- My husband first started talking to me because he fancied my friend and wanted advice on asking her out. This year will be our 10 year wedding anniversary.
- My husband is my first love.
- I got married in Scotland, on the way there the airplane we were flying in on caught fire (no one was hurt).
- I love American TV shows and very rarely watch British ones.
- We were told that we would be unable to conceive a child naturally, about a week before we were due to start fertility treatment I found out I was pregnant.
- I hate sieves, they feel weird and they give me the heebie jeebies.
- I’m very frightened of spiders, but really wish I wasn’t and have debated doing a course to overcome my fears at London Zoo where at the end you have to hold a tarantula.
- Purple is my favourite colour, followed pretty closely by pink and green.
- My ultimate dream is to become an author and I hope one day to achieve it.
- I’m a classically trained singer – a mezzo soprano.
- I played the viola until I was 16 – I was pretty terrible.
- I tickle my children to the theme tune of Jaws.
- Until about two weeks before she was born my daughter was going to be called Isla. Then my husband went to get his haircut and his hairdresser told him Isla was the 3rd most popular girl’s name in the country, he came home and refused to name her it. We decided on Aria which is Italian for song on melody usually performed by one voice.
- I hate cooked breakfasts, I don’t understand the appeal, probably due to my dislike of eggs and would much rather have a bowl of muesli.
- I turned up to one of my A level exams having revised for the wrong exam. There were tears! I sat it anyway and managed to get a D. As it was a modular course, I managed to get my grades up through the other parts and came away with a C.
- The inspiration for my son’s name came from none other than Hugh Jackman himself – Wolverine.
- I love make-up and very rarely don’t wear any.

Excellent facts, especially the fire on the plane one, wow that must have been so scary! Are you OK with eggs being in things, e.g. cake, or can you still taste it? xx
After knowing you all these years, I still didn’t know that you didn’t like sieves, and I love the fact that you tickle your children to the tune of Jaws!!
A fab post and it’s great to learn a bit more about you. Love that you had an exam disaster in your 20 facts too, it’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one!
